In Wiccan traditions there are primary tools and secondary tools. The categorization will depend almost exclusively on the tradition to which each branch belongs.

So what is the standard that I will use to classify them? I will use a very simple standard: Those that are strictly necessary from the drawing of the circle to its opening and are connected to the energy of the witch will be the primary ones. All the others will be secondary, although no less important.

And why do we classify them? For the simple reason of knowing which of them will require more attention from the witch for their preparation, consecration or use. Since it is not the same attention that a watchtower candle will require as opposed to an Athame or a cauldron.

And if I'm not Wiccan, can I still use them? Of course yes, you don't have to follow a specific tradition to use them, here we come to describe the tools. Wiccans will use most of them because there is a ritual format more or less common to all, but any other witch from any other tradition of witchcraft also uses them.
